Sherlock Holmes better watch his back! There's another detective on the block!
ENOLA HOLMES

Sherlock Holmes may have made a name for himself but it's about time he shares the spotlight with his sister, Enola Holmes, a detective-in-training. She's young, she's rebellious and she's everything Sherlock is not... someone who isn't afraid to let her emotions show. She thinks with her heart before she involves her brain and is a strong endorser of the quote "Follow your heart and your brain will eventually follow". She is someone who takes on a case just because it tugged at her heartstrings. A true humanitarian indeed.
A classic adventure, mystery, and crime film. It follows Enola and her brothers, Mycroft and Sherlock as they search for their missing mother. Her brothers intend on sending her off to a boarding school so that she doesn't get involved, but we see Enola take matters into her own hands as she flees from them and looks for her mother all by herself, she soon gets tangled in royal matters as she stumbles upon a runaway Viscount. She finds solace in the presence of Viscount Tewksbury, who is facing a similar dilemma as he is running away from his power-hungry family members who intend to kill him and take his position. The plot follows Enola as she narrowly escapes Mycroft's clutches, it would hurt Mycroft's ego if Enola finds their mother before him so he does everything in his power to lock Enola up in a boarding school. This proves to be a silent battle of wits. Enola has the upper hand because she knows her mother the best as she's been with her the longest, Mycroft and Sherlock flew away from the nest way too early for them to get to know their mother but that wasn't the case for Enola as she was nestled in her mother's care all her life. She discovers clues that her mother left behind and stealthily tracks her down all the while staying under Mycroft's radar. Sherlock, in this movie, takes on a minor role and encourages Enola to take the lead. Enola embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
Much praise to the screenwriter and the entire production team for conjuring up a movie with zero plot holes, the scenes followed each other naturally and harmonized in an incredible way. Much kudos to the costume designers for executing their jobs perfectly. Set in the 1850s, the costumes strictly adhered to the Elizabethan era with corsets, ball gowns, vests, and funny-looking trousers. The characters were well-dressed throughout the movie. The characters showed steady development in their personalities and by the end all the evil forces were defeated and only the good prevailed. A happy ending was a given because it wouldn't be a Holmes movie if the good didn't prevail. The movie swept the box office off its feet and earned a total of $75 million worldwide.
